Well I've seen quite a few try to build a curved round pipe, so I thought it would be a good idea on how to make a tutorial about it. So, starting with displacements I'm gonna show you how to make one using displacements, then I'll show you how to make one with displacements thats hollow on the inside. After that I'll show you how to make one with brushes, though I would not reccomend using brushes.

Another gread displacement tutorial you may want to take a look at is this one. Because you need to know how to make Pillars in order to do what I'm showing you in this tutorial.

Our first step would be to make a simple cube, Then createe more cubes and cut 2 of them at a 45 degree angle so that it looks like this.

You dont have to use the same dementions as I do but if they are not even on the X and Y grid views you could get ovals.
My squares are 128 high and 128 deep. (You can make them any langth you want.)

Our next step is to open up the texture tool window (shift+A) and select all the textures on the outside.
Note: Do not select the texture faces on the ends of the pipe.

Then create them into a displacement and it should look like this:

I added the green lines.
Next we simply click the subdivide button and let the computer do all the work. Cool
In the end it should look like this.

I added the green lines.
Now just delete the ends, make a Pillar, and put them next to the curve.

And sew them together.

Tada! Cool

However, maybe you dont need a sharp right angle curve, maybe you want your curve to be slow. If so check out Part 2.

Hope this tutorial helped you out. Cool
