Rp_Vacant

Hey, Ive been working on this map for a while now (One week :P) But sadly, it died on me... (To many "Hiccups")

Luckilly, I have begun on Rp_Vacant V2.0

Many more improvements since V1.0 (Which was badly needed)

I wasnt able to finish v1.0, but it did introduce some interesting concepts. In this, I was trying to portray the elements of a normal survival hororr game into the HL2 style. Admitadly, the map had many flaws, but I introduced elements such as examining things, finding clues, ect.

For the most part, its an open feild for you to find the mysteries of this roadside town. Ill place a link I had for V1.0. The screen shot is old (Fixed the fog/skybox contrast) and it doesnt show alot. But I hope you like it anyways :D

to be honest the screenshot shows VERY little.

it's a cool concept though. If you wind up with questions on anything, the folks around here should be able to help.

Yea... The screenshot is pretty pathetic... And Im sure Im going to be asking alot of questions :P

I hope my idea works. For examining things, I use a point_message entity and place them by objects and stuff so when you look at a newspaper, itll say somthing like "Local Boy Mauled by Cute Puppy" or somtim like that. If you know anything better that would work, please tell me. Again, Im open to suggestions

ps: Again, the screenshots from V1.0. Alot has been fixed regarding lighiting and acrhitexture.

Yeah.
RP_would be cool if it's was designed better.
Like Stalker with a trader and a screen to see what your buying and stuff.
Instead of all the generic console commands.

The types of Rp and stuff people ussually play are a little to generic. I want somthing people can really get into without the monotony of opening menus, managing space, stuff like that. However, I want it to be fun, practical and still very efective. I hope that by practicing with these kinds of maps (Rp_Vacant) I can expand my own ideas and also recive feedabck from others about what they liked, what they didnt like.

My dream one day is to make a really good mod. Somthing really pro ;D
