Need help with ai's

yer i need help with the ai's i wont to make the combine i put in a map not shoot at the player i wont them to be at a neutral state until the player shoot at them but only the 1's the player hit attack if any of that makes since, iv tried using a relations entries in hammer but that didn't work i can ether get them to not shoot at anything altogether or they just shoot at me.

sort of making a thing were u kill enemy's u get exp and level up but that exp system isnt working ether i'll have to try it again,
well as i tried to test adding combine to a map well they all just end up shooting at me then the next time i tried they just spawn and stand still and not move around and don't shoot but just look at u

Come on somebody has to be able to help him with this, if not send me a computer that can run sdk and I could help him out.

Did you try the logic_auto entity with the spawnflag "Gordon Pre Criminal" flag? That might work. Failing that you could also use block_los textures if NPCs are nearby but you don't want them to see the player, and put the player on the other side of the block_los...

I guess you could also try using ai_relationship as the soldiers like !player, but you might need to tinker with the game code to get that command to work...

So you only want a combine to shoot at you if you hurt them? Like your with a group of combine and you shoot one of them you only want that one to shoot you?

The thing that seems to work is having an ai_relationship set the initial state to neutral or like and then having an output for each npc something like

Ondamagedbyplayer-->!self-->setrelationship-->!player D_HT 99 <--parameter override

My computer has compiling issues currently but I got it to work enough to figure that out.

normal u stop look at the forums cos u dont get a reply for about 1 week and u get like 20 replys on the post ==

hmm i was half on the right path there before but didn't work the way i tried but it was smiler to your way i'll give your way a try :P
