VS2003

Ok, i do have a copy of VS2003 but when i used to have it installed it used to crash things regularly. Not sure why but it did. I think it was something that came with it. Cant remember what it was or what it was called but it did something to the way my pc works. Well, i was looking at VDC at certain VGUI walkthroughs for changes logos, menus etc which i would be interesting in following. I just dont want to install VS2003 again and have it screw my pc up again...

Re: VS2003

normally internet explorer can cause errors with any version of VS,

I would recommend removing IE and just using FF although 2005 dosnt seem to have this problem

upgrading to 2005 is an awesome idea aswell, or just ask nicely and i can compile your code and make the changes for you

Re: VS2003

get the 2005 or 2008 express editions. they're nicer anyway.

Re: VS2003

But it's free ^_^

Andy, you should get firefox, it's better then Internet Explorer I believe. And definetly get VS2008/or 2005 like these guys said, it's much better. Not sure if I remember correctly, but do those VSE2005/1008 require .NET framework??? Idk what .NET is tho, but I just have a feeling.

Besides, 2003 is too old to work with the sdk, you should be using 2005 for source engine code ;).

Re: VS2003

if you dont know what .NET is you should stop learning code until you know, its an important part of todays software

in other words, read about a paragraph or two. If you're learning to code for the sake of modding, that's really enough. If you're looking to make the next hot software suite for windows, then yeah, learn what it means. i have to disagree about "stop learning code until you know", though. the world doesn't run on Microsoft Standard Time (tm). at least not yet.

Re: VS2003

I guess I'll check .NET out soon. Only reason I don't know it is because my tutorials haven't told me. Or maybe I know something about it, just forgot it was called .NET, perhaps someone can enlighten me?
