If you can't understand those errors then you shouldn't be doing it. Learn C++.

Lol, seriously?
I'm just doing the right thing :p
I had the same thing happen to me over at Steam forums when I first started out, and I listened to them and learnt C++. Head over to those forums and you'll know what spam is then ;)

It's not that I don't want to help, I'm just not helping someone who's not willing to help themselves. Ask any programmer, they'll say the same thing to learn real C++!

And besides, you need to explain more before anyone can help. For all we know these errors could be from you using vs2008 and not applying fixes.

Re: need help PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :P

look I'm studying c++ at skool so I do know some stuff in the language but reading doesn't really help me to learn only by doing I learn, see I get those errors even though I followed the valves instructions from word to word there's something there that's got to be done but i cant see it here's the bets of code that is stuffing up

first bit of code:
  Code:
void CHudLevel::OnThink( void )
{
   C_HL2MP_Player *pPlayer = C_HL2MP_Player::GetLocalHL2MPPlayer();
   if (pPlayer)
      SetDisplayValue(pPlayer->GetLevel());
}

that's what they showed me that i had to put in but the problem is there's nothing to declare pPlayer c_HL2MP_PLAYER
if u look in the list from error 2 - 7 there all to do with that little bit of code

second bit of code:
  Code:
   RecvPropInt( RECVINFO( m_iExp ) ),
   RecvPropInt( RECVINFO( m_iLevel ) ),

there errors 9- 12 and thing is that was all they gave me to put in mined u I'm putting it in the right places to were they told me I'm not that brain dead unlike some ppl are

well if u need any more things tell me not hard for me to get

Re: need help PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :P

well because there's 2 things I'll put them in a notepad file for ya and I'm using 'Microsoft visual C++ 2008 express edition'

the debugger is set up correctly cos iv followed the instructions on the valve wiki page on how to set the debugger up == they really need to have like link to a picture of what the code should look like or something

Re: need help PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :P

Well the code looked fine...
All I can say is use VS2005. Valve have clearly mentioned before they did not make the code solutions for 2008, so expect errors. You NEED to be on 2005 for a safe journey. Errors like that are common with vs2008. Grab the free vs2005 express. And you might wanna start with a new src, because your current ones would have been configured for 2008, so best to start again, in 2005.
