Vecima! (Audacity-Help)

I've made a project. Like always before.
But never seem to figure out what the right filters to set/use.
It's a rock song ;) .
I use a low pass, normalize, a compress, the intros are great, but how it records the main part of the song, when all the instruments are playing,
sounds like when you have a 10$ radio turned up all the way :x .
Suggestions? Tying to filter it, but of course keep the bass. It would be a travesty to kill the bass on this band :D

Re: Vecima! (Audacity-Help)

unfortunately, i'm not a master of audacity, or even audio recording for that matter. i do all of my effects/preamp with an effects box, and leave the PC side of it clean. i use mixcraft (sort of like garage band) to do the recording and mixing. sorry, but i don't think i can be of much help here.

Re: Vecima! (Audacity-Help)

Ooo! Someone else uses Audacity here! Excellent. I made a small foleyed track for 5 with Audacity, but naturally it's quite rough. Maybe you could comment or mess with the track? (Like Celldweller's little "Take it and Break it" contest)

Damn, won't let me post the song. I even RARed it. Bloody filesize limits.

Zip it, or a download link.
works too.
Once map files get good size you cant post them here either.
I forgot there was a file upload option.

Re: Vecima! (Audacity-Help)

oorrrrrrr....you could talk to your local friendly composer of music to see if he'd be interested in writing some music for you because he needs the practice and wants to make a career of it someday.......

*that's me by the way*

I use adobe audition, and i record/edit all the time, though i'm not familiar with Audacity. are you just trying to clean up your audio file? because if that's all, i may be able to help you clean it up. but if it's something specific to the program you're using, then i can't help. :/

but you guys could certainly make use of the composer who's just hanging around your forums...

Re: Vecima! (Audacity-Help)

I'll be sure to consider the option, thank you very much =)

Anyway, as for the actual music it's foleyed, so it's a bit unconventional.

That is foley music, and very good music as well. I'm going for something on similar lines but with a bit of differences, more diverse samples, combining with the lack of drums and in some tracks, a few digeridoo lines.

Somewhat closer in some respects:

cool man, well, if that's the direction you're heading in, i'm sure garage band could do wonders for you.

also****

you may want to look in to purchasing a Korg Kaos Pad, they're truly remarkable, and i'm sure you could certainly do some hardcore foleying with that bad boy.

In case you haven't figured it out already, Audacity is a freeware sound file reorder/editor used primarily for creating and/or editing WAV or MP3 format sound files. It is a high-quality alternative to some of the commercial editors out there.
