No damage?!

No damage?!

Ok, just realised i have a slight problem with the player not taking fire drop gunfire. (Still takes damage from explosions though oO.) I have two maps so far as you may know, the intro map which is just some cameras watching some stuff and some text. When the intro map is finished the player is then taken to the first playable map. This is where the player wont take gunfire damage.

Funny thing is, i ran the playable map on its own without going through the intro map and it works fine, so im guessing it has to be something to do with the transition?? Really wierd.

Anyone got any ideas?

Did the intro use any point_viewcontrols that turned the player non-solid? That technically makes the player not take damage from gunfire. Not sure why explosions still work though...

try sending a "disable" and / or "kill" input to all of the logical entities in the first map when the map fades out.

Nope, there were a couple that were on infinite hold even though they were later disabled. Took off inifinite hold on those but dont think it will make a difference.

Not sure i can do that because i cannot name a logic_auto entity so i cant disable it.

true, but logic_auto entities can't set a state in a map that's causing a problem in a later map.

i probably shouldn't have said "logical entities". i really meant anything that isn't NPCs or other simple entities. I remember your other problem came from sending a "kill" input to something without "disabling" it... this sounds like it may be related.

Hmm, just played through what I have done on the mod because i was thinking of maybe doing something to it again.

Im still confronted by this problem... anyone want to have a look?

BTW, the problem is that the player cant be shot right?

From what I can tell it's all in the maps. Not in the mod base or anything, I was able to run the intro map for ep2 in your mod and I got killed in it so that means it's in your maps.

Other then that I cant tell much without the vmf's. So send me the vmf's and I'll have another look.
